Re-post. Good reminder.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Today at church there was this guest pastor speaking and his words were so wise I thought I’d share it. He was telling us this story of courage and perseverance and how we should trust God and “fear not” (which is incidentally found 366 times in the bible, so that’s one very good reason to fear not everyday including February 29). Anyway the thing that he said that stood out most to me was this sentence:
Don’t minimize your problems. Maximize your faith.
What does that mean? It means that while it’s still okay to try and find the silver lining in the cloud, or making lemonade with lemons, or whatever else you do to make the problem less significant or less painful, that’s not the FIRST thing you should be doing as a Christian. Trust God to take care of your problems, trust God to show you the reason why you have this problem in the first place. Fear not because He got you this far… Why would he leave you alone now?
Sometimes it may seem like he’s gone, but God doesn’t hold your hand and do everything for you. He’s not there to keep your life problem free. He’s there to teach you and give you experiences of a lifetime.
God doesn’t hold your hand throughout your troubles… He stands by to catch you if you fall.
So fear not and trust God in times of troubles, trials, or testing.
